Non-fiction: memoir, biography and true stories

The agency's non-fiction list leaned towards memoir and personal testimony. The best known author in it is Schuyler Jones, the anthropologist who later directed the Pitt Rivers Museum at Oxford; his autobiography A Stranger Abroad was listed in 2009. Kamal Amin's Reflections From The Shining Brow recalled his years as an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin. Lt. Col. Joseph W. Hoffler's Promotion: Denied described being passed over for colonel at the Air Force Academy in 1984 and why he believed it happened. Wayne Klatt's Final Justice was an inside account of a corrupt narcotics court.

Two of the non-fiction titles were published. Dr. Larry Forness' Don't Get Duped, a consumer's guide to the health and fitness industry, came out from Prometheus Books, and The Men's Club by Bert Gottlieb and Thomas J. Mawn, M.D., a patient's and a doctor's account of prostate cancer, appeared on the agency's domestic publications list. Other listings include Marie Estorge's Louisiana family memoir Storkbites, Laurence Smith's true-crime study The Last Christmas of Jon Benet Ramsey, and Letters from Grandma, a set of letters about growing up in rural upstate New York.

Questions

Which non-fiction books were published?

The agency's Published Works page listed Don't Get Duped by Dr. Larry Forness (Prometheus Books) and The Men's Club by Bert Gottlieb and Thomas J. Mawn, M.D. The other non-fiction listings carried no publisher.

Why does Hyper-Sex appear twice?

The agency kept two pages for the same book under different author names, both captured in 1998. The archive preserves both as found rather than merging them.
