HYPERSHOT by Scott

Foreigners are shot in Munich's English Gardens during Octoberfest, and Colorado weapons designer Chad Hunter is sent to Germany to secure a deal for an advanced hand-held rifle.

About the book

Foreigners are being shot in Munich's English Gardens during the yearly Octoberfest celebration. Gustav Vogler, a gruff Bavarian Polizei investigator, has never seen wounds like those before. Is there a crazy neo-Nazi on the loose?

Back in the Colorado Rockies, Chad Hunter, a private weapons designer, is plucked from a mountain hunting trip by the president of Warfield Arms to head a team to Germany to secure a deal for production of the most advanced hand-held rifle ever conceived.

The United States has not had a new basic military rifle since the M16 was adopted in the 1960s. Companies worldwide are competing for a new NATO rifle contract that will be worth billions over time.

Just months before the military recommends to congress its weapon of choice, a German company enters the bidding war. The German rifle is so radical, so sophisticated, so fast, it will revolutionize how any military will fight its next war. The problem is, the German company has no U.S. production facilities arranged, and congress will only approve funding for a weapon made in America.

The Germans make a deal with Warfield Arms. If they can get a contract for a new scope under development by Frank Baldwin's fledgling Wyoming company, Warfield can manufacture this new rifle. This scope is so advanced it will turn an average shooter into an expert marksman.

Hunter and Baldwin go to Germany with the scope to secure the deal. But they aren't alone. Warfield has sent Sirena, a beautiful brunette with a dubious past, to shadow them and protect his assets until the deal is signed. And she's not the only one tailing them.

A Czech gun company and a Connecticut optics company with mob ties both want a piece of the pie. And both of them will do anything to get this new weapon and scope. By now the German Polizei have discovered who has been killing all the foreigners, and Gustav chases the killer to America.

In the end, all factions meet in the Wyoming Rockies in a harrowing shoot-out that will determine who wins this new rifle.
